The horse exhibiting the least amount of help from the rider will receive the most credit from the judge.
No penalty points for reining. No martingales or training devices allowed. Snaffle bits are okay.
The horse will no longer be eligible for this class after placing in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively.

3000 Novice Horse
Any Rider
No limit on money won by rider.
Horse does not have to be rider owned.
Horse may not have more than $3,000 in LIFETIME EARNINGS or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively to be eligible for the class.

2000 Limit Rider
Any Horse
Horse does not have to be rider owned.
Rider may not have more than $2000 in LIFETIME EARNINGS or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively to be eligible for the class.
 

Ladies
Any Horse/ Any Rider
No limit on money won for horse or rider.
Horse does not have to be rider owned.

Ranch Horse Novice/Non-Pro 1000
Any Horse with less than $1000 in LIFETIME EARNINGS.
Any Non-Pro rider with less than $1000 in LIFETIME EARNINGS.
Rider must meet CRCC Non-Pro requirements.
When either the horse or rider has earned over $1000 or the team (horse and rider)
has or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively will no longer be eligible for the class.
No penalty points for reining. No martingales or training devices allowed. Snaffle bits are okay.
The horse exhibiting the least amount of help from the rider will receive the most credit from the judge.

500 Novice Rider
Any Horse
Horse does not have to be rider owned.
Rider may not have more than $500 in LIFETIME EARNINGS or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively to be eligible for the class.

250 Novice Rider
Any Horse
Horse does not have to be rider owned.
Rider may not have more than $250 in LIFETIME EARNINGS or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively to be eligible for the class.

100 Beginner Cutter
Any Horse
Horse does not have to be rider owned.
Rider may not have more than $100 in LIFETIME EARNINGS or placed in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively to be eligible for the class.
This class is intended for the beginning cutter, rerun cattle will be used. Will
work out of the herd, the use of one (1) or two (2) hands will be okay.
No penalty points for reining. No martingales or training devices allowed. Snaffle bits are okay.

Practice
Any Horse/ Any Rider
The Practice is NOT eligible for awards.
Will
work out of the herd, the use of one (1) or two (2) hands will be okay, to be judged on individual merit, rider has the option to be judged.
Horse may be shown in any type of equipment.

Junior Youth
Open to any youth, ages 13 and under, riding any horse

Senior Youth
Open to any youth, ages 14 – 18, riding any horse
 

IMPORTANT NOTES and DEFINITIONS

  1. PROFESSIONAL or TRAINER – Any person who takes or has taken money or any consideration for the training or showing of a cutting horse.
  2. NON-PROFESSIONAL – Any person, who has not shown, trained or assisted in training cutting horse(s) and/or cutting horse rider(s) for
  3. remuneration – either directly or indirectly.
  4. NOVICE – Any person who has not shown, trained, or assisted in training cutting horse(s) and/or cutting horse rider(s) for
  5. remuneration – either directly or indirectly or apprenticed under a professional or trainer without earning any money.
  6. AGE LIMIT – is effective January 1 of the current year (i.e. a youth who is 19 years old on May 1 will still be eligible to show as a
  7. Senior Youth until the end of the current show year).
  8. CLASS LIMIT - A rider may not enter the same horse twice in one class at any one show. For free or complimentary classes, only one entry per rider.
  9. LIFETIME EARNINGS – is effective January 1 of the current year. Money earned from all cutting affiliations
  10. (CRCC, NCHA, COCHA, etc) will be combined to evaluate earnings on horse and/or rider for eligibility of a class.
  11. JACKPOT PAYOUT SCHEDULE – see NCHA weekender schedule
  12. NO JACKPOT on YOUTH or PRACTICE classes.

 

POINTS AND SERIES AWARDS

1. Points for all series awards for the CRCC are to be compiled using the following formula: points will be awarded equal to the number of entries in a class, with the first place entry receiving the number of points, the second place entry receiving one (1) less point and etc. (i.e. in a class with 8 entries, the first place entry receives 8 points, second place entry receives 7 points, 3rd place receives 6 points, and 8th place receives 1 point). If a contestant is disqualified 0 points will be received.

  1. In the event of a class tie, points are combined and divided equally among the horses involved.
  2. Points toward series awards will be assigned and recorded as follows:
    1. Open, Ranch Horse Open, 3000 Novice Horse: points to the horse (rider may be different at each show).
    2. Ladies, Non-Pro Open, 2000 Limit Rider, 500 Novice Rider, 250 Novice Rider, 100 Beginner Cutter, Senior Youth and Junior Youth: points to the rider (horse may be different at each show).
    3. Ranch Horse Novice Non-Pro 1000: points to both the horse and rider as a team.
    4. The Practice Class is NOT eligible for awards, points will not be assigned in this class.
  3. Only points accumulated in closed CRCC shows (open to members only) will apply towards series awards.
  4. In the event of a tie for series awards, the winner will be decided by a ride-off at the last show. You will forfeit if not in attendance at the last show. If still tied after a ride-off, a coin flip by a board member will be used to determine the winner.
  5. To be eligible for series awards, a member must compete in at least 50% plus one (1) of an awarded class during the approved CRCC series shows. For example, if there are 4 shows the member must show in the same class in 3 of the shows to be eligible for that class award. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  6. Limits
    1. A horse (in a Novice horse class) has officially graduated from a class to a higher limit class after placing in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively or exceeding the class money limit.
    2. A horse and or rider combination (Novice Non-Pro) has officially graduated from a class to a higher limit class after placing in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively or exceeding the class money limit.
    3. A rider (in a Rider class) has officially graduated from a class to a higher limit class after placing in the top three (3) two (2) years consecutively or exceeding the class money limit.
  7. The high-point horse award will be defined before the start of the series, if decided on by the board to be given as an award.
  8. All horses and riders competing for the series awards must comply with these rules.
